
Joyce Jackson received her nursing from the Lynchburg-General Marshall Lodge Hospital School of Nursing in 1976 and her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing from Marymount College in 1980. After obtaining her Master's degree Joyce continued her training until she finally obtained the highest degree in nursing when she got her Nurse Practitioner's degree from The Catholic University of America in 2005.
After many years of experience in both the Emergency Room and the Critical Care Units, Joyce went into private practice in the field of Phlebology. Now with 15 years of experience in the field of Phlebology, she is considered one of the United States' top Nurse Phlebologists.
Joyce has extensive experience in the following procedures:
- Micro-injection sclerotherapy
- Ultrasound directed sclerotherapy
- Laser treatment to superficial tanlangiectasia
- Color-flow ultrasound diagnostics
- Mapping of the venous system
- Endovenous laser procedures (EVLT)
She has trained many nurses and physicians across the United States in the proper diagnosis and treatment of venous disease. She and Dr. Robert Hashemiyoon were the Diomed training team from 2003-2005 for the Mid-West to West coast physicians. Joyce continues to travel to several physician's offices on both the East and West coast to treat their worst patienst with EVLT.
As a further tribute to her skills in the field, she was featured in the Nursing Spectrum Magazine as a U.S. distinguished nurse phlebologist.
Joyce has continued her education and expanded her scope of practice to include various cosmetic procedures. Those include laser hair removal, injection of Botox, and other cosmetic fillers, microdermabrasion, and alpha hydroxy acid peels to address skin care needs.
