There are many reasons that you can develop varicose veins or spider veins in your legs. The number one most important contributing factor is genetics. If one parent has bad veins (varicose vein or spider veins) then the offspring are at a 50% risk for developing bad veins. If both parents have bad veins then the offspring are at 90% risk for developing bad veins, too.
